Locks of Love

Posted by JeanellePaige at 10:23 AM 2 friends stopped by to say...
I have been growing my hair out for a long time now. I was growing it out because I have beautiful soft curls and lots of body and I wanted to be able to show it off. If I took the 1/2 an hour each day to do it, it would be beautiful! Thing is, all I ever do with it is throw it up with a clip on top of my head!! It takes so long to wash it in the shower too. I have decided to chop it off and donate it to Locks of Love. Someone who needs nice hair might as well have it and enjoy it since all I ever do is plop it on top of my head! Fantastic Sams will cut and style your hair for free if you are donating your hair. So, I am a little nervous and happy. Happy because of the good thing I will be doing, but nervous because I look bad with short hair, lol. My hair has so much body that when it is short it poofs out and I look like the mushroom from Mario Bros. I am hoping that Fantastic Sams will teach me how to take care of the short hair and make it look nice. Plus, this will cut my shower time in half! LOL!
So, I will take a before and after pic. I will probably be doing it sometime this week, when I get a chance and brian is home to watch the kids. Wish me luck!!

I haven't posted in a while, I've been real busy! We had Spring break here. The kids were home, and half way during the week my step-daughters came, so we had 6 kids here. My older 2 spent the night at their house one night. Aidan skinned his knee riding a bike, but the way he acts you would think he broke his leg, lol! It was a fun break. Brian got the week off too, they all helped do yard work, plant flowers, play, have a B-B-Q, watch movies, stay up late.....
Our Van broke down, that stunk. Actually, the only one who goes in it is Brian. He drives it to work and back. I won't go in it or let the kids in it. It's a 92 Dodge Caravan and keeps breaking down, lol. We drive a Pilot, much safer! Anyway, we got the van towed and fixed and back home before my parents got back from their vacation in Utah. We didn't want my dad to have to stress about our situation with the van. It's not that he has to stress, but he would have.
So, the kids are back in school today. YAY! LOL! So I thought I would post about my new GORGEOUS kit!! I am just loving it!

It's such a cute, pretty kit isn't it? I love the colors and the flowers. I used it for 2 lo's so far.

Well, I have to go get a new dryer today. Ours is old and about to die! I will try to be a better 'blogger' and post more than I have, it just seems I never have enough time in the day!

Had a rough day

Posted by JeanellePaige at 9:21 PM 8 friends stopped by to say...
Well, today I had conferences with the kids teachers. I didn't tell my ex about them because 1.He had to work , and 2.They are usually quick simple meetings.
Well, today was not simple, nor quick.
Aidan's conference went well. He is doing better than he ever has been. The only thing he needs to work on is slowing down and taking his time. He likes to rush and be the first one done, get it done fast to go onto the next thing.... kind of like me, lol!

Avery's was a different story. She is still having socialization problems, clinging to her teacher, not really wanting to participate in a group, can't remember all of the things that she should be by now, happy and content in her own little world, feeling un-confident in herself to be able to do the things that she can.....
The teacher said she isn't that far behind that she wants to hold her back, but she is afraid if she goes onto first grade she will get even further behind. She suggested summer school, but the summer school program is not very ono-on-one and helpful to students who need extra help. There's another thing she suggested, Pre-1st grade. This is a great program with lots of extra help and great specialized teachers. The thing is, if she does this, it will mean she goes into this grade while everyone else goes into 1st, and then when she should be in second, that's when she will start 1st, so she will be a year behind. Also, it is a totally different school than the one she is in now. She will be getting on a different bus than Aidan and going to a different school than him for a whole year! I got ahold of my ex at work and he and his new wife came by to talk to Brian and me. We all decided that this Pre-1st program would be the best thing for Avery. My mother, who is a teacher, sayd that going to a different school and getting on a different bus will be good for her independance, but working with special teachers for a whole nother year might make her feel dependant on them.
Ugg.
So, while the teahcer was telling me all of this, I wanted to cry. My eyes started to well up. I really had to stop myself from breaking down. Things like this really make a parent feel like they are just not doing their job. Avery's teacher is really great. Aidan had her, and I requested her especially for Avery, and will be doing the same for Brielle and Jillian too. She really is a wonderful teacher. So, then I think it must be me, a bad mom, my daughter is behind, maybe I had too many kids and I can't give her the one-on-one time that she needs, maybe she has middle-child syndrome, maybe this and maybe that....... Then I need to step back and realize that this isn't about me, it's about Avery and what Avery needs. I can't sit here and think those things, I need to take a deep breath, try my hardest, learn new things to try and do with her. I also need to realize that all kids are different. Avery has always been introverted, and observer, a dreamer.... this is who she will always be, but I can help her to be the BEST her.
So, the teacher is going to email me with more info about this program, info about things that I can do with her here at home. I just hope that I can do the best that I can for my daughter.

Brand New Kit!

Posted by JeanellePaige at 12:02 PM 1 friends stopped by to say...

I just added a new kit to to the store! Impressions of Louis! This kit was created as a request from a customer who said she had searched the internet for the perfect kit to scrap a photo of her Great-Grandfather. She said that her Great-Grandfather Louis used to do impressions of Jimmy Durante. So I named the kit, Impressions of Louis! I really had to think 'outside of the box' for this one, it's not my usual style, but I had a lot of fun with it! I hope you all enjoy it!

I've been TAGGED!! (darn you!) LOL

Posted by JeanellePaige at 9:41 AM 0 friends stopped by to say...
I have been tagged by Kelly AND Jheri!!! Since Jheri tagged me first, here goes...

So here's what I'm supposed to do: I post five things about Jheri, and then tag other people to do the same about me.

1. Jheri makes kick butt LO's
2. She is a great mom!
3. She has 2 beautiful daughters!
4. She a really funny person!
5. She's super easy to talk to!

Ok, now Kelly's tag:

I am supposed to write about the someone I admire.
Besides my online friends and acquaintances who make awesome LO's and awesome kits that I envy for those reasons, the one person who I have to say I admire is my Grandfather. He passed away in 1999, but I always think of him and miss him terribly. He was a great person! He saved everything! If his lawnmower broke, he didn't junk it and go buy a new one, he tinkered with it and fixed it. He always had coin rolls and saved every little penny he found. He would always tell me, "Don't spend your money all in one place." LOL! He was so much fun to hang out with. We lived next door to my grandparents growing up, and I always went over to visit. I would follow him around while he worked outside. I learned a lot from him. I really miss him.
Well, that's it!

Now to tag 4 more people. Here's how it goes... just pick ONE tag to do, lol. Whichever one you want. Here's my people:
Heather, Candice, Michelle, Kathy! Don't hate me girls! LOL

Wasn't mad, but I am now!!

Posted by JeanellePaige at 4:42 PM 10 friends stopped by to say...
Ok, so, I opened my site on the 1st, 4 days ago. I have been real generous with my freebies. So generous that not even 12 hours after I opened I had to purchase more space to hold them because I exceded my bandwidth!!!! I have been notified by 2 other fellow scrappers that 2 of my 'free' kits are being distributed amoung yahoo groups!! WHY?? I mean, first of all, right on my freebie page it says, "*Do not share DL links, instead, tell your friends where you got it so they can DL it themselves!" Second, Isn't it a hell of a lot easier to give your friends the link to my site rather than uploading my file to one of the file sharing sites and distributing THAT link?? I mean PLEASE!!!
What REALLY ticks me off is the email I got from Yahoo after I notified them:
"Your recent correspondence was insufficient to constitute an effective Notification of Infringement"
Now what kind of bullshit is THAT?? (yes, I am swearing, I am mad!)
So, I wrote them, again, with MORE info. I also contacted the file sharing place, but have yet to hear form them.

To the people who don't listen and don't care about sharing files illegally: All of us digiscrappers have eyes everywhere. We are all in this together and watch out for each other!!

This is taken from Jen Strange's blog:
Freaking stop stealing from my friends. Stop stealing from them not because they are my friends, but because they are someone's daughter, someone's wife, someone's mother. Every time you steal from a digital designer you are taking money away from their family, from their children. How can anyone feel ok about that? Nothing you do on-line is anonymous. Everything you do can be traced back to you, with the proper court order. Please ask yourself right now if the thrill of stealing and your cheapness in not wanting to pay for the things you want are worth the cost down the road of a legal battle. It's time to get your priorities in order.

Another new music video!!

Posted by JeanellePaige at 10:43 AM 1 friends stopped by to say...
Jack Johnson - Upside Down

I love this song for a couple of reasons...

1.I love the meaning of it, it really makes me happy, and it's how I like to look at life.
2.It's on Noggin, and Brielle and Jillian and I love to dance to it whenever it comes on. No matter what we are all doing, we stop and start dancing.
3.I love his music and this one is no exception! He's got such a lovely voice that draws your ears right in, and the music is just so GREAT!!

Ok, that's it for now! Back to working on a kit! hee hee

"Upside Down"
Who's to say What's impossible Well they forgot This world keeps spinning And with each new day I can feel a change in everything And as the surface breaks reflections fade But in some ways they remain the same And as my mind begins to spread its wings There's no stopping curiosity I want to turn the whole thing upside down I'll find the things they say just can't be foundI'll share this love I find with everyone We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs I don't want this feeling to go away Who's to sayI can't do everything Well I can tryAnd as I roll along I begin to find Things aren't always just what they seemI want to turn the whole thing upside down I'll find the things they say just can't be found I'll share this love I find with everyone We'll sing and dance to Mother Nature's songs This world keeps spinning and there's no time to waste Well it all keeps spinning spinning round and round and Upside down Who's to say what's impossible and can't be found I don't want this feeling to go away Please don't go away Please don't go away Please don't go away Is this how it's supposed to be Is this how it's supposed to be"

My Crazy day!

Posted by JeanellePaige at 8:35 PM 0 friends stopped by to say...
Well, I hope you all love the freebies on my site! I am really excited about my Sunday Morning Paper Freebies!! I mean SUPER excited, LOL! Sunday mornings are supposed to be relaxing, and that's what this will be too! It's not a daily download, so you have all week to go and grab the paper. I have all week to MAKE a new paper too! I have made 3 today in the few moments I had on the computer. I just LOVE the color scheme of it! I have always loved the dark red with light blue, and the tan/brown color just compliments it so well! I can't wait to start making the elements to go with it!
Aidan had his first baseball practice today. He had a lot of fun, but he was quite tired after it. I didn't think to bring the camera because I was just worried about having to bring the other kids and occupy them on the playground while Aidan was practicing. My ex husband and his new wife and his mother went too, so Aidan had some family to watch while he played. Brielle was a little cranky because she couldn't get on a lot of the playground equipment. I had to leave early too because my blood sugar was low. I brought orange juice like I always do when I go out incase that happens, but the kids were thirsty so I gave it to them. Kids come first! My ex dropped Aidan off and we went to the restaurant that Brian works at to have dinner. Brian was working, so it was me taking care of the 4 kids during dinner. It was a little crazy, but not too bad.
When we got home, my brother stopped by to see the kids. He lives in Vermont, (we're in NY) so we don't see him too often. The kids love when he comes over. He brought these homemade pee shooter type things and was shooting mini marshmallows with the kids, lol. He also helped Aidan and Avery jump with the moon shoes he bought Aidan for x-mas. The kids on the box show that they can jump REAL high in the air and have a blast! Well, Aidan and Avery were lucky if they could jump an inch off the ground! Mostly they just fell down while I cringed thinking that their ankles would break, LOL!
Before I knew it, 7:00 was here! Daylight savings really messes me up! All of the kids are in bed and Brian is watching the Sopranos. It's not really my type of show, but I watch it with him. What I am waiting for is Big Love! I love that show! I saw on someone's blog a link to one of the characters blogs. Reading the comments is so FUNNY! People comment like they are talking to the character, telling her what they think that she should do. I am thinking, "Whatever the writers write in the script is what she will do!!!" LOL! Some people have no lives, but I guess I shouldn't talk, my life is pretty boring too! I think I like it that way though. No, I KNOW I like it that way! It means comfortablility, predictability, structure.... I like that! hee hee.
Well, I am off to watch TV! Thanks to everyone for their wonderful comments on my site, and on my blog, and for just stopping in! It keeps a smile on my face knowing that I am loved! :)

The beginning of each paper pack will have a striped paper, that way you can see the color scheme for that paper pack! I hope everyone thinks my idea is as great as I do, lol! OOPS!

Well, I guess I was TOO generous with the freebies, my site has been temporarily shut down, hee hee. It will be back up tonight at midnight. The freebies will not be back up tonight though. I am working on getting them moved over to a new server, lol. Guess I better not be so generous next time huh? LOL! ;) Thanks for your patience!

My Site is open!

Sweet Digi Creations is now open! There are lots of freebies, and a $1.00 off sale from today until April 7th! You can also check out the gallery, and meet my CT and see their wonderful LO's! They all do such GREAT work! They make ME jealous, lol!

I wanted to change the video I have in my blog, but PC Planets isn't working!! All the videos I want don't play and there's no code to grab! UGG!! I wanted Kansas: Dust in the Wind. I love that song. In high school I was in the orchestra, I played violin. I was really good, I won awards and things, and that was one of the songs our select group of 6 played. (There was the whole orchestra, and then 6 of us who were really good and played songs with just us) I also want Jack Johnson: Upside Down, the one that plays on Noggin with Curious George. Brielle calls it the Monkey Song, lol. Anyone know of any other places to snag videos from?
